1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the DeckReader mobile application (the "App"), published on Google Play, and the addavento.com website (the "Site"), both operated by Addavento ("we," "us," or "our").
By installing the App or visiting the Site you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account & profile data — If you create an account or contact us, we may collect your name and email address.
- Support requests — Messages and attachments you send through our support channels.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
DeckReader does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone input, precise GPS location, or any files outside of the app's own storage.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide & maintain the App — Deliver core features, including TTS playback and content rendering.
- Improve our products — Analyze usage patterns and crash data to fix bugs and prioritize features.
- Serve advertisements — Display ads through Google AdMob (see Section 4).
- Process subscriptions — Manage billing and subscription status through Google Play (see Section 5).
- Communicate with you — Respond to support requests and send essential service notices.
- Comply with legal obligations — Meet applicable laws and enforce our terms.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
DeckReader displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its mediation partners may collect and process data to show relevant ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.
Data that AdMob may collect
- Google Advertising ID (GAID)
- Device information (model, OS, screen size)
- IP address (used for approximate location and fraud detection)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
- App usage signals
Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads
Where required by law (e.g., under the GDPR or CCPA), AdMob will request your consent before serving personalized ads. You can change your ad preferences at any time:
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > "Delete advertising ID" or opt out of ad personalization.

5. Subscriptions & Payments
DeckReader offers optional paid subscriptions. All payments are processed exclusively through Google Play's billing system. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details, bank account information, or billing address.
Google Play may share the following with us:
- Order/transaction ID
- Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
- Purchase date and price paid

6. Text-to-Speech (TTS)
DeckReader uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine to read content aloud. TTS processing occurs on your device. We do not transmit the text being read, your voice settings, or any audio output to our servers or to any third party.
Your device's TTS engine may be provided by Google, Samsung, or another manufacturer. Please consult the privacy policy of your device's TTS provider for details on how that engine processes data.

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

8. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — Third-party services listed in Section 7, strictly for the purposes described.
- Legal requirements — When required by law, court order, or governmental request.
- Safety & fraud prevention — To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
- Business transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
9. Data Retention
We retain automatically collected data (analytics, crash logs) for up to 26 months, after which it is aggregated or deleted. Support correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 15).
10. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
DeckReader is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
12. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
For All Users
- Opt out of personalized ads — Adjust your device ad settings or reset/delete your Advertising ID.
- Uninstall the App — Removing DeckReader stops all future data collection by the App.
- Request data deletion — Email us to request deletion of data we hold about you.
European Economic Area (EEA) / UK — GDPR
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format).
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Our legal bases for processing are: consent (ads personalization), contract performance (subscription management), legitimate interest (analytics, security), and legal obligation.
California — CCPA / CPRA
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
13. International Users
DeckReader is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- Notify users through the App or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of DeckReader after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
